An Eventbrite alternative for running the event, not just getting found

Eventbrite and Fomomento aren't really competing for the same job. Eventbrite is a marketplace built to get an event discovered and sold to its own audience. Fomomento runs what happens once you have the crowd — the schedule, the speakers, the vendors, the door, and UK VAT done correctly. Plenty of organizers use both.

Not really the same category

Two different jobs, not two versions of one job.

Worth saying plainly, since the two get compared a lot: Eventbrite and Fomomento sit on different sides of an event. One gets you the crowd; the other runs what you do with it. Neither replaces the other, and plenty of organizers legitimately use both.

Eventbrite: discovery & marketing

A marketplace with its own audience, its own search, and its own app — built to get an event found by people who don't already know about it. That's a real job, and Eventbrite is good at it.

Fomomento: event operations

Once you have the crowd — from Eventbrite, your own list, or anywhere else — Fomomento runs what happens next: the live schedule, the speakers and vendors attached to it, the door on the day, and VAT computed and frozen correctly.

Same crowd, different job

What running the event actually takes.

A schedule that's actually connected.

Tickets, schedule, and the vendors or speakers attached to a session live in one system, so a venue or time change cascades — affected sessions move and the people attached to them are told — instead of needing separate manual updates.

UK VAT computed and frozen correctly.

VAT is calculated at the moment of sale at the correct rate, frozen onto every ticket, and invoiced in gap-free sequences your accountant and HMRC will recognize.

Your own page, your own domain.

A clean public event page under your brand, plus embeddable schedule and ticket widgets you can drop onto your own site with one line of code.

Your attendee list stays yours.

Attendee and sales data exports to CSV — names, emails, ticket type, activation and check-in status — so you can run your community in the tools you already use: your mailing list, Slack, Discord, or your CRM. You can also reach your whole crowd directly through a broadcast sent from Fomomento itself.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is Fomomento an Eventbrite alternative?

Only if what you need is event operations rather than discovery. Eventbrite is a marketplace for getting an event found and sold to its own audience — a real, useful job. Fomomento runs the event once you have the crowd: the schedule, the speakers and vendors attached to it, the door on the day, and VAT done correctly. Many organizers use both — one for reach, one for running the thing.

Can I use Eventbrite and Fomomento together?

Yes, and plenty of organizers do exactly that. List on Eventbrite (or wherever you already get discovered) for reach, then run the schedule, the people behind it, and the tax paperwork on Fomomento. They solve different problems, not the same one.

Is my attendee list actually mine?

Yes. Attendee and sales data exports to CSV — names, emails, ticket type, activation and check-in status — so you can run your community wherever you already do: your mailing list, Slack, Discord, or your CRM. You can also reach your whole crowd directly through a broadcast sent from Fomomento itself.

Does Fomomento handle UK VAT the way a UK organizer needs?

Yes. VAT is computed at 20% (UK standard rate) at the moment of sale where it applies, frozen onto each ticket, and invoiced in gap-free, sequential numbering your accountant and HMRC will recognize.
